Transitions…

The past month and coming few months will involve much transition for our family.  We recently decided to put our house on the market here in western New York, with the hopes of selling within a couple years and transitioning south (the housing market here isn’t so great…).  Within a few busy weeks of marketing our house and applying for jobs, we had a purchase contract for our house, and I had accepted a faculty position at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee!  The doors opened so fast and we couldn’t feel more blessed right now.

My time at Houghton College has been excellent, and I was thrilled to be a part of developing and creating the music industry program in the School of Music at Houghton College.  Houghton College has been great to me in the numerous capacities I have served over the years, in particular the work I have been able to do on a continued basis in the Greatbatch School of Music with Kevin Jackson.  I am excited to watch the music industry program take off and thrive in coming years!

During the next couple months I’ll be finishing my work at Houghton College, preparing my courses for the Fall semester at Bethel University, and our family will get ready for a big move south!

New Position!

I have officially taken a new position at Houghton College as Assistant Director of Technical Arts, as well as Adjunct Instructor of Commercial Music.  This new position was created due to the increasing growth and demand of our commercial music courses at Houghton College, and future plans for expanding programs in the Greatbatch School of Music.  We have added 6 new courses to the college catalog, and 2 new courses will be offered this coming 13-14 academic year: Introduction to Music Business, and Recording & Studio Technique.

Over the coming weeks (months) as I settle into the new position, I will be working to redesign and structure my website.  Please bear with me as this project gets done in the midst of a lot of new work and planning of courses.
